Buy GTA 6: Box, download code and the compatible console

According to Rockstar, the box contains a download code.

Rockstar's current pre-order FAQ describes the physical retail version as packaging containing a code for a digital download. According to this information, a disc is not included. Therefore, a product image showing a game case does not automatically mean you will receive a physical disc.

The crucial difference for your purchase decision: You download the game and redeem the license in the corresponding platform account. Therefore, check the product description and not just the cover. If a seller explicitly promises something different, clarify the discrepancy before ordering.

Four points before buying

1. Platform: Choose the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S edition to match your console. A code for one platform does not guarantee compatibility with the other.
2. Scope of delivery: Check if a download code, disc, or another format is mentioned. Save the description of your order.
3. Edition: Compare the specific contents listed in the official store. A higher price does not guarantee an earlier game start or an additional game mode.
4. Delivery: A code sent by mail can only be used once you have received it. Distinguish between the delivery date, any possible pre-download, and activation.

PS5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series S

For consoles without a disc drive, a suitable digital access method is especially important. Just because a code is in a box doesn't make it a disc. Pay attention to the exact platform and region of the code. You can find redemption instructions in our [link to relevant section]. Guide for PS5 and Xbox.

Preloading and starting the game are two different things

Rockstar mentions code execution in connection with the pre-download. We cannot infer any specific download size, time, or deadline from this. A game that has been downloaded is not necessarily unlocked. The information provided in your order and by the respective store remains definitive.

Which edition is worth it?

Wenn du nur das Hauptspiel möchtest, vergleiche zuerst den Preis der entsprechenden Standardausführung. Zusatzinhalte sind nur dann ein Vorteil, wenn du sie tatsächlich nutzen willst.
