Redeem your GTA 6 download code: PS5 and Xbox

Before redemption: Check the platform and your account.

Rockstar describes the GTA VI retail box as containing a download code instead of a disc. Have the code ready, check its platform, and log in to the account that will own the game. Do not share photos of the complete code publicly. The redemption method is a standard store feature; we are not claiming to have personally tested a previously shipped GTA VI code.

On PlayStation 5

Open the PlayStation Store. Go to the "More" menu and select "Redeem Code". Enter the twelve-digit voucher code, check the displayed content, and confirm the redemption. You can then start the download as soon as it's available.

Sony points out that the region and account must match and that a voucher can only be redeemed once. The voucher's value cannot be easily transferred to another account afterward. This is precisely why account verification before confirmation is important.

On Xbox Series X and S

Use the official redemption method in your Microsoft/Xbox account. Before confirming, check that you are logged into the intended account and that the displayed content matches your order. Microsoft explains the different methods for console, app, and browser in the support article linked below. The store interface may change; if in doubt, follow the manufacturer's current instructions.

If the code is not accepted

• Compare the characters carefully without posting the code here or in comments.
• Check the platform, account region, and whether the code has already been used.
• Distinguish between a redemption error and a download that is not yet available.
• Keep your proof of purchase and the offer description. If the merchant code is incorrect, contact the seller; for account problems, contact platform support.

After redemption

Check your library and available console storage. A successful code entry doesn't guarantee an exact unlock time. Additional updates may also be required. Download the game from the official store and check the status directly on your console.
