Jason Duval

Between new beginnings and old connections

Jason is one of the two main characters and lives in the Leonidas Keys. His background combines a criminal environment with a later stint in the military. Afterward, he ends up back with local drug smugglers. As a result, his story doesn't begin as the rise of a complete outsider: he already knows the milieu and yet is still looking for an easier life.

How the author contextualizes the background

Rockstar writer Rupert Humphries offers further clarification: According to the interview quoted by GamesRadar, Jason's military background is not intended to convey a specific political message. His material circumstances are part of his motivation, while the interpretation of his decisions is left to the audience. No particular military gameplay mechanic or clear moral lesson can be derived from this.

Who is Jason Duval in GTA 6?

Rockstar introduces Jason as one of the two main characters. His profile describes a criminal background, time in the army, and subsequent work for drug smugglers in the Leonidas Keys. This biography explains his starting point; it is not proof of special combat stats or unlockable abilities.

What connection does Jason have to Brian Heder?

Brian Heder's profile on Rockstar states that Jason is allowed to live rent-free in one of his properties in exchange for helping with local intimidation. This indicates Jason already has connections in the Keys. However, this doesn't imply a specific mission sequence or free access to all properties.

Is it possible to switch between Jason and Lucia?

The two are introduced as the main characters. The rules for switching between them must be examined using specific gameplay information. A character profile alone does not answer when a switch is possible or whether missions require a particular character.
