What Rockstar has officially confirmed
On October 8, Rockstar expanded the GTA 6 music page and introduced six radio stations. On-demand podcasts are also officially confirmed, along with headphones and earbuds that allow Jason and Lucia to listen to radio and podcasts both in vehicles and on foot.
For PS5 and Xbox players, this means more than a list of familiar artists. The feature changes how Leonida's soundscape accompanies exploration. However, the number of stations, podcast episodes and convenience features in the finished game remains unknown.

Six stations reveal the musical range
The stations introduced are Cocoteo FM for contemporary Latin music, Back Country Radio for country, Afro Bank FM for African genres, metal station The Chamber, Vice City's familiar pop station Flash FM, and Dirty South Classics for regional rap and hip-hop. Short station previews can be heard on Rockstar's website.
This selection is explicitly not a complete station directory. Rockstar also mentions classic rock and talk radio, describing the offering as the series' largest and broadest yet. GamesRadar+ and VGC therefore treat these six stations as an initial sample rather than a final list.

Why listening on foot matters for gameplay
In earlier GTA games, radio was generally tied to vehicles. Getting out meant leaving behind the music, presenters and satire. The new smartphone connection allows those programmes to continue while walking through Vice City or exploring other parts of Leonida.
That may sound like a convenience feature, but it could noticeably change the atmosphere. Players no longer need to interrupt a show simply because a drive ends. Rockstar has not explained whether playlists, favourites, rewinding or separate volume controls will be available. Those features should not yet be treated as confirmed.

Podcasts are more than a new form of talk radio
Talk radio has long been part of GTA. The announced podcasts differ mainly through their on-demand format: players should be able to choose content rather than only hear it during a live radio schedule. Rockstar explicitly calls this a first for the series.
How selection works in the smartphone menu, and whether new episodes unlock as the story progresses, remain unknown. There are also no reliable figures for the number or length of episodes. The confirmed feature is the on-demand format itself; further claims would currently be speculation.

Radio stations and the official album are separate things
Alongside the in-game radio, Rockstar is promoting Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. Official information says it contains 34 specially released tracks and arrives on November 19. The music page features songs by artists including Yung Lean, Travis Scott, Rauw Alejandro and Keith Richards.
That album listing should not be mistaken for the entire radio catalogue. GTA stations typically combine music, presenters and fictional advertisements or conversations. The stations and album singles revealed so far do not establish the complete list of licensed songs in the game.
What PS5 and Xbox players should know now
The announcement describes the features for GTA 6 in general. Rockstar does not identify differences between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It has also not explained whether headphones activate automatically, remain available during missions or can be permanently disabled. There is not enough information for a platform comparison.
The essentials are confirmed: six stations can be previewed, podcasts introduce an on-demand format, and Jason and Lucia's smartphones allow radio and podcasts to be heard on foot.
